In class, we have been reading a play called "Invasion from Mars". This play is about an extraterestrial object that crash landed in a farmers field. The characters in this play included a radio reporter, professor, farmer, and some smaller parts. These different characters allowed us to really look at the differences between formal and informal language between the characters.
We broke up into small groups to practice reading this play. We have been working so hard on our fluency, that I really wanted everyone to have a chance to read this play out loud. However, I was shocked when EVERY group wanted to read the play out loud in front of the class. We had SO much fun listening to the different expressions our classmates added to the characters! Not only was I proud of their expression and enthusiasm, I was just proud of them for getting in front of the room to read aloud! That can be a scary thing! Below are some pictures of the kiddos in action. |
